Previous experience: Must have current C class (motor vehicle) driver's license |
Course Description: On completion of the course clients should be able to identify 4WD terms and terminologies. |

Content: 4WD vehicle pre-departure checks (preparation), correct driving techniques in rocky conditions, correct vehicle recovery points, vehicle recovery gear such as exhaust jack, types of basic vehicle recovery gear and their use, tyre/wheel changes, hill ascents and descents, kinds of 4WD suspension systems and their ability, kinds of transmission and their functionality, key/stall hill starts, vehicle communications, convoy procedures and environmental impact issues. |

What to bring: Essential: A registered 4WD vehicle, a full tank of fuel, lunch, gloves, good shoes, sunscreen, hat, water (about 5 litres), a spare wheel. Non-essential (if you have these items that's great, if not we will have them with us): UHF radios, snatch strap, shovel, |

Duration: This course is run over two days over a weekend covering two separate courses which are the Sandy Terrain Course and Rocky Terrain Course. For departure time and location for both days please call Geoff on the details listed below. |

What we supply on the day: Morning tea, a full complement of tools, a full complement of self-reliant 4WD vehicle recovery gear, air hand-held UHF radios, fire extinguishers, senior first aid trained personnel and off-road 1st aid kit, GPS capability. |

Additional Costs: Fuel usage for your vehicle and any other expenses you may incur for the duration of the course. Please note that your vehicle is not insured through Ultimate 4WD Training for this activity, so please check that your current vehicle insurance covers your off-road requirements during the course adequately. We do use gazetted 4WD tracks. |
